ABB wins $95 million automation order in India

   Zurich, Switzerland, January 5, 2006 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, said today it has won a $95 million contract for an enterprise wide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system from India’s largest integrated oil and gas company, ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) Limited.

It is designed to support the company’s geographically-dispersed production and drilling facilities, both onshore and offshore, with “anytime-anywhere” data access to enable faster decision-making and response.

Expected project benefits include reduction in the time and cost for data integration, enhanced reliability and scalability, monitoring and control of assets across multiple locations and improved efficiency of oil exploration.
